THE BODY IMAGE PROJECT

The Body Image Project is an exhaustive content analysis of research on religion and body image – the largest content analysis ever conducted of this area of research. Specifically, we are looking at the findings that religious variables have mixed effects on body image, eating disorders, and related variables – predominantly positive outcomes in terms of body image, but also some negative outcomes in terms of eating disorders. We have presented our findings at the Southwestern Psychological Association conference and are writing up an article for the journal The Counseling Psychologist.
